Bermuda offers some of the finest sailing conditions in the World, your Optimist sailors practice hard all year round. RBYC Sailing Academy is keen to encourage you to give your sailors some Regatta experience overseas. This is not only a sailing experience it is also a life learning experience.

RBYC Sailing Courses

Sea Squirts:

In the Summer Programme, RBYC will be offering a “Sea Squirts” sailing course. This “fun with boats” course is an opportunity for younger children to enjoy time on the water and learn the basics of sailing. Each day the children will participate in a different activity and craft to do with the water. This program is aimed at 5 and 6 year old children, the focus is not to learn how to sail, more about giving the kids more confidence and getting them ready to jump in a boat with no fear ready for Learn to Sail.
 

Learn to Sail

In 2011, RBYC is adopting the International Sailing Federation’s (ISAF) Learn to Sail Scheme. Under the management of the Director of Sailing, RBYC offers after school and weekend Sailing Programmes during the Spring, Fall and Winter terms both for Junior and High School age children. RBYC also offers Sailing Lessons for adults all year round.
Additional Sailing Clinics at various times of the year will also be offered.

Spring Sailing (April – June)

RBYC commence their year round sailing programme in April, Spring sailing runs through to the end of June. As Bermuda adopts the ISAF Learn to Sail syllabus, RBYC will be offering courses for Levels 1-4 within the ISAF Learn to Sail Scheme. Private lessons are also available.

Summer Sailing (July – August)

In July and August RBYC run their Summer Sailing Programme, sailing takes place on weekdays and caters for all levels of ability. RBYC’s Qualified Instructors will be teaching
Sea Squirts and Start to Sail together with ISAF’s Learn to Sail Levels 1 - 4. (This is not a baby-sitting service!)

Autumn Sailing (Sept – December)

RBYC’s Autumn Sailing Programme starts in September and runs up to December.
RBYC’s Qualified Instructors will be teaching Levels 1-4 of ISAF’s Learn to Sail syllabus.
Private lessons are also available.
